My children were becoming masters of the material we studied!
I wish I could remember how I was initially introduced to notebooking. I believe I Providentially stumbled upon this website for it has been the springboard for major changes in our home.
After almost a decade of homeschooling, I knew what I wanted our schooling to look like, but at the same time I knew it was looking less and less like my vision. When I discovered these notebooking pages, I decided to use the freebies offered to try it out with my children. They didn’t really notice a difference at first, so I began substituting some of our “independent” work with more notebooking pages. I was so pleased with the outcome. My children were becoming masters of the material we studied!
I was sold! I purchased the Notebooking Pages Membership during the Fall Sale and took advantage of the other bonuses offered. I asked for the Epi Kardia curriculum for Christmas and was again very pleased.
My children were not as optimistic as I was about starting “another new curriculum.” I was so pleased yesterday to hear my oldest son comment, “Is this what we’re going to do more of? This is really fun!” I am now spending time reading all those wonderful books with my children, exploring the volumes of creative notebooking pages for ways to express what we’ve learned, and sharing it all with excitement to Daddy when he comes home. What a blessing this has been for our family.
The key to our successful transition to notebooking was the wonderfully helpful emails that I received the first couple weeks after my registration on the website. Each email walked me through the process of incorporating these into our schooling. Without that I would have been too overwhelmed to know where to start. Instead it was an exciting process and a gradual (more permanent) transition.

I cannot even begin to say how much your site has changed my life! Sound melodramatic? Perhaps, if anything, it is an understatement! After homeschooling our 2 older children through middle and high school and then starting from the beginning with the three younger ones (9, 6, 3) I was feeling overwhelmed and stagnant. I saw my children getting bored and frankly, so was I. How was I going to keep this up? I began praying for God to inspire me with a way to teach my children that would bring fun back into learning and would, at the same time, give me confidence that they were learning what they needed to. It was within a week that I stumbled upon (through God’s grace and love for his struggling children like me) Debra’s website. Of course, I did my own homework and looked into several other sites offering similar services, but NONE of them offered what Debra does; and to be honest, I don’t know HOW she manages to do it! If I tried to make my own templates I’d be so frustrated! (and I have tried in the past) This site allows me to have access to everything I need for school and print it off quickly without feeling like I wasted my time at my computer…time that could be spent delving into books with my children and having fun. I LOVE the new publisher feature that will allow my children freedom to create their own unique pages as they get older. I have to be honest, when we first started notebooking it was intimidating and scary for me…I wanted to DO it RIGHT…but that’s the magic in this kind of learning: there is no RIGHT way! I just think of it now like a journal of all the things we like to talk about. Pictures, drawing, writing, etc…my children LOVE looking through their notebooks frequently and I LOVE to see concrete evidence that they are learning. We are loving notebooking! Let me just say it has completely changed our school for the better. Now the girls are really excited to “do school”. I was about to give up even though I knew it was what God wanted us to do. School was just drudgery. This has breathed new life into our home and days. How could something so simple provide such relief? If you can’t enjoy what you are doing, then, what is the point? We are so happy to be notebooking.

I just started homeschooling my 5-year old son for kindergarten this year. I’m new to homeschooling, and we are going through a charter school – so we are given a curriculum and assignments. But I have been frustrated with the curriculum and textbooks, and my son has been less than enthusiastic with the number of worksheets and “busy-work” and I was beginning to feel like I was killing his natural love for learning. Here I had this incredible child who is already reading on a 5th grade level, doing end-of-1st grade math, and yet he was starting to hate “school.” I felt like I was failing. I started researching online for other homeschooling ideas, and came across the whole notion of notebooking, and it immediately appealed to me. It seemed so much more flexible than the curriculum we were assigned now, and it seemed like my son would be actually learning more than when he’s just filling in blanks or drawing lines from pictures to words on worksheets.
My first trial was with one of the science notebooking pages. I printed the one with space for 3 pictures and then primary-lined writing area. We did a science experiment, and rather than just DO it, like we normally would have, after the experiment, I had my son draw pictures of the stages of the experiment and asked him to write a sentence about what he learned – and he LOVED doing it!!! It made the whole experience SO MUCH more of a learning experience, and even though it’s been a couple weeks, he’s STILL talking about it! Even though he generally dislikes writing, he truly enjoyed that experience, and I hope to have many more like it!! Thank you for opening a whole new world to us!!
I would like to thank you for your hard work and sharing it with us to save us time. My husband is a very visual person and loves to see the girls (7 and 5) work. However, it is not until he sees their completed notebooks that he understands how hard they work, how much they learn and how much fun they have. Again, thank you for sharing your “treasures” with us.
My only regret is waiting so long to become a lifetime member.
I have been using the “freebies” for some time. I have gotten a whole lot of mileage out of the lined papers and the science experiment papers. I have used several others as well. This is my 3rd year homeschooling, and although I use a curriculum, I use the pages to supplement what we are doing. In science, we use the experiment pages to take notes and create easy study pages. I use the history pages for the same purpose. However, I keep coming back to the site to find more pages as we advance in our studies. I am seeing so many exciting pages, for geography, anatomy, history that I kept longing for that weren’t freebies. I just jumped in today and purchased the lifetime membership, and my creative ideas are flowing. I can’t wait to use the pages in conjunction with our curriculum to enhance what we are learning, instead of just flying over the materials. My child gets excited about history, so now we can create a notebook of her favorite topics. The possibilities are endless! My only regret is waiting so long to become a lifetime member.
I was thrilled to find your site. I had been searching for different ideas to use with my daughter that are more creative. This site has given me so many options. It has also enabled me to have more fun time with her and her brothers and not be so stressed over planning. As a lifetime member I love the fact that future updates are included with no additional charge. I am getting ready to start the Colonial times with her and focus on the Revolutionary War so that she can understand why we have the freedoms we do today and why it is important to ensure that her children have them as well.

After many times of wanting to take the plunge, today I did just that. I bought the lifetime membership, and I’m so glad I did. I’m truly blown away by the pages and topics offered. It has got me revved up again and ready to dig in with my kids. I’ve already printed off pages and the kids have ran, dug out books and began researching so they can do their fun pages. Thank you for saving me time and helping my kids learn in fun ways. I believe learning that’s enjoyed is learning that stays. Keep up the good work and may God bless you for all your hard work. My kids ages are 15, 13, 9, and 8. They are all as excited as I am. The best part is I can print off the pages we need and take them with us everywhere we go.

I initially signed up for the freebies to “test the waters” of notebooking. Wow! It has transformed our days!! My kiddos are excited to write (what?!) and seem to really be retaining what they are learning. They are so enthusiastic about their work and to top it off they can’t wait until the end of the day to share with daddy what they have been learning! I’m sold! We are now Lifetime Members! I purchased the complete set of notebooking pages last spring. It was my first purchase from your site and I never buy things on impulse like this. I knew as soon as I saw the samples that I wanted this.
We have used many of the Alphabet pages, and we also use the Nature Study pages. This month we are starting a study on ancient civilizations and I am just LOVING the notebooking pages. The pictures are great, very detailed and realistic and they are perfect for my little ones. I was worried that we would not be able to use a lot of these pages until they got older (they are in first grade and kindergarten) but we have already used a lot of them!
The Ancient Egypt pages we are using now are just beautiful, and my children actually enjoy writing when they use them. I even use the copywork pages for handwriting and spelling practice. It is much more fun to do their work on pretty pages!
It is even neater now that you have made this a membership, and I always look forward to the updates. I can’t wait to use the A-Z Animals pages, I know my kiddos will go crazy for them!
