Our Notebooking Story

Our homeschool journey began over 20 years ago…

Homeschooling wasn’t working out as I envisioned. I felt like a slave to the curriculum. Each day, I pushed myself and the kids through the lessons but ended up feeling like a failure, whether we finished or not.

After six years of schooling this way, I discovered notebooking. This simple yet powerful approach shifted my mindset, cut the busywork from our day, and helped me take the reins of our homeschool with confidence. Learning became more engaging, more effective, and more enjoyable for all of us.

I created NotebookingPages.com to share what I’ve learned with other homeschoolers, not as an expert, but as an experienced friend who’s been there.

What an amazing resource notebooking pages has been to us! We began with the Bible pages to supplement our FIAR book studies. Now we use them along with Tapestry and our the timeline work.

The History packages exceeded all my expectations! The Explorers pages were such a fun addition to our World History study and now the American Presidents have really brought all our work together in an impressive and fun notebook that we can show to friends and family to highlight what our students are discovering on our learning journey.

The designs and quality are so impressive and effortless for me, the crazy busy mom, whether just using copywork pages or ongoing projects like our Nature Notebook and timeline. These products have saved me so much time and allowed us to really showcase all our homeschooling accomplishments in a fun, meaningful way for our family to tell a story about our adventures in learning. We started out using the ABC books and have moved up as my children get older. We now use the history pages with our Story of the World studies. We use the science sheets to keep up with experiments with Apologia. One of the things I like most about the pages is that you can use them in so many ways and with so many programs! I love too that I can hop on and print out EXACTLY what I need…like the president pages that we used to study through all the presidents! Recently Debra added a program to write your own copywork sheets in CURSIVE!!! No more buying copybooks that “aren’t quite right!” Now I can make my own and have exactly what we need (with pictures too!!) I cannot wait to get started. We benefit in so many ways from these pages and I appreciate NOT having to do the work! 🙂

I am a homeschool mother of seven children. One has officially graduated and is now married with two children. I still have six children at home age 12 and under. I used to use a curriculum course that was geared for particular grade when I had just three children in school. As another child got older and joined in the school work fun, it started not being so fun for me. I couldn’t juggle being a high school teacher along with a 2nd grade, 1st grade, and Kindergarten teacher with a different set of books for each child. My husband and I decided to step back and evaluate the situation on what I could do to make it easier for me to teach a household of children but yet still give the children what we wanted them to learn. We turned to Unit Studies and Notebooking. We incorporate lapbooking, unit studies, and notebooking together for history and science/nature study. We still have a separate math book for each child and now utilize workboxes to give them some extra things such as piano, Spanish, etc. to round out their day.

We are currently using pages from Notebooking Pages for our science/nature study and incorporating when and where we can with our Mystery of History study. I like the fact that the pages are ready to go in a variety of styles from some with a photo and many journaling lines to a place for the child to adhere a photo or draw a photo and then include information or facts on lines provided. These pages take the guesswork out of it and save me time from searching the web for images.

In the past, we have used pages from Notebooking Pages in a study on the United States that I taught to a co-op of my children and five children of friends. They each had their own notebook and I printed out pages for them to fill in facts about each state as well as gave them the state birds coloring pages. All of which I found right here at Notebooking Pages.

I am very pleased with the quality and availability of the notebook pages from NotebookingPages.com. I highly recommend them to others who are either wanting to start notebooking with their child(ren) or are looking for quality pages. There’s no scour the internet for other sites or try to make your own, when you have many available right here on NotebookingPages.com!

After looking at the idea of notebooking for the last two years…we are DOING IT this year! I have looked at your site off and on as well as many others and even contemplated making my own pages for a million different topics but the realization that I came to every time was that the page I would create would be JUST LIKE what I see on your site! The details, the space to write, the different formats for different ages, the massive number of subject areas…the reasons are absolutely endless that I finally committed and bought my Lifetime membership to start using! We are so tired of book work alone and this has led all of to just dread school time and the threats of them having to get on that big yellow bus at the crack of dawn have been flowing more and more freely in our home! With 5 kids…4 of which will be school age this fall I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am to introduce this into our schooldays! We can do so much more together and tie in everything I have always wanted to with Music, Science, and History! I am so excited for our new year again and I wanted to tell you thank you so much for allowing me the freedom of not recreating the wheel!!! Anyone on the fence, don’t wait as long as I did! Jump on in…it feels great!!!

I have been using the “freebies” for some time. I have gotten a whole lot of mileage out of the lined papers and the science experiment papers. I have used several others as well. This is my 3rd year homeschooling, and although I use a curriculum, I use the pages to supplement what we are doing. In science, we use the experiment pages to take notes and create easy study pages. I use the history pages for the same purpose. However, I keep coming back to the site to find more pages as we advance in our studies. I am seeing so many exciting pages, for geography, anatomy, history that I kept longing for that weren’t freebies. I just jumped in today and purchased the lifetime membership, and my creative ideas are flowing. I can’t wait to use the pages in conjunction with our curriculum to enhance what we are learning, instead of just flying over the materials. My child gets excited about history, so now we can create a notebook of her favorite topics. The possibilities are endless! My only regret is waiting so long to become a lifetime member.
