We have used notebooking in our homeschool for years but this past year my husband took a new job requiring us to move out of state. Moving can require a lot of a mom of five. I decided to trim down our workload and go as simple as possible. One of the things to go was notebooking. Now several months later we are moved in and trying to get back on track. My oldest daughter in her teens saw me looking at my account. She asked “Mom, are we going back to notebooking?!” I said I am planning to. She replied “great because I remember so much more when we do that” She proceeded to tell me about previous studies we had done and how fresh they still are in her mind because we used notebooking. I hope this is an encouragement to moms out there that are either considering notebooking or need to return it to their routine.

After looking at the idea of notebooking for the last two years…we are DOING IT this year! I have looked at your site off and on as well as many others and even contemplated making my own pages for a million different topics but the realization that I came to every time was that the page I would create would be JUST LIKE what I see on your site! The details, the space to write, the different formats for different ages, the massive number of subject areas…the reasons are absolutely endless that I finally committed and bought my Lifetime membership to start using! We are so tired of book work alone and this has led all of to just dread school time and the threats of them having to get on that big yellow bus at the crack of dawn have been flowing more and more freely in our home! With 5 kids…4 of which will be school age this fall I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am to introduce this into our schooldays! We can do so much more together and tie in everything I have always wanted to with Music, Science, and History! I am so excited for our new year again and I wanted to tell you thank you so much for allowing me the freedom of not recreating the wheel!!! Anyone on the fence, don’t wait as long as I did! My husband and I decided to step back and evaluate the situation on what I could do to make it easier for me to teach a household of children…

I am a homeschool mother of seven children. One has officially graduated and is now married with two children. I still have six children at home age 12 and under. I used to use a curriculum course that was geared for particular grade when I had just three children in school. As another child got older and joined in the school work fun, it started not being so fun for me. I couldn’t juggle being a high school teacher along with a 2nd grade, 1st grade, and Kindergarten teacher with a different set of books for each child. My husband and I decided to step back and evaluate the situation on what I could do to make it easier for me to teach a household of children but yet still give the children what we wanted them to learn. We turned to Unit Studies and Notebooking. We incorporate lapbooking, unit studies, and notebooking together for history and science/nature study. We still have a separate math book for each child and now utilize workboxes to give them some extra things such as piano, Spanish, etc. to round out their day.

We are currently using pages from Notebooking Pages for our science/nature study and incorporating when and where we can with our Mystery of History study. I like the fact that the pages are ready to go in a variety of styles from some with a photo and many journaling lines to a place for the child to adhere a photo or draw a photo and then include information or facts on lines provided. These pages take the guesswork out of it and save me time from searching the web for images.

In the past, we have used pages from Notebooking Pages in a study on the United States that I taught to a co-op of my children and five children of friends. They each had their own notebook and I printed out pages for them to fill in facts about each state as well as gave them the state birds coloring pages. All of which I found right here at Notebooking Pages.

I am very pleased with the quality and availability of the notebook pages from NotebookingPages.com. I highly recommend them to others who are either wanting to start notebooking with their child(ren) or are looking for quality pages. There’s no scour the internet for other sites or try to make your own, when you have many available right here on NotebookingPages.com!

This is our go to site for all our notebooking needs. My daughter especially loves the Publisher. This site motivates her to want to create and learn. She is retaining more information than ever, and is even working above grade level. We discovered Notebooking within months of beginning our homeschool journey, I couldn’t imagine educating any other way. My daughter wouldn’t want to learn in any other way.

Though my daughter has always been a good student, she wasn’t an independent thinker when it came to learning, unlike her older siblings. She just read what she was told, answered questions at the end of a chapter, and took a test. Then we began homeschooling in 6th grade, now approaching the end of 7th grade, my daughter actually makes out her own schedule of what she wants to read and Notebook on, she has taken initiative in her own education. She now has an interest in History, Classical Music, Art, Literature, and chooses topics most kids wouldn’t.

Like you, I had preconceived notions of the “perfect” homeschool education. I spent a great deal of money our first year on material she never even used. Then when I discovered notebooking, we invested in paper, art supplies, a comb binder, laminator and a library card. She is a happier student, I am a happier mom.

I think Notebooking should be an educational law. I apologize for my lengthy reply, but I have become not only passionate about Notebooking, but a huge advocate. Your site is easy to navigate, and offers a wide variety of subjects and topics. Though we follow a Charlotte Mason style curriculum, Notebooking truly will work with any style or methods of teaching.

We started out with just doing notebooking for small projects and for the occasional handwriting exercise. I used to think it was one of those areas that our family didn’t have time for or could afford. Then we started using Mystery of History and Apologia Science and found that notebooking worked great with both of them. I truly believe that my children have enjoyed both of those subjects more and have learned more than they ever would have if we had only followed the “traditional” textbook approach. We benefit in so many ways from these pages and I appreciate NOT having to do the work!

We started out using the ABC books and have moved up as my children get older. We now use the history pages with our Story of the World studies. We use the science sheets to keep up with experiments with Apologia. One of the things I like most about the pages is that you can use them in so many ways and with so many programs! I love too that I can hop on and print out EXACTLY what I need…like the president pages that we used to study through all the presidents! Recently Debra added a program to write your own copywork sheets in CURSIVE!!! No more buying copybooks that “aren’t quite right!” Now I can make my own and have exactly what we need (with pictures too!!) I cannot wait to get started. We benefit in so many ways from these pages and I appreciate NOT having to do the work! 🙂

…he LOVED doing it!!! It made the whole experience SO MUCH more of a learning experience…

I just started homeschooling my 5-year old son for kindergarten this year. I’m new to homeschooling, and we are going through a charter school – so we are given a curriculum and assignments. But I have been frustrated with the curriculum and textbooks, and my son has been less than enthusiastic with the number of worksheets and “busy-work” and I was beginning to feel like I was killing his natural love for learning. Here I had this incredible child who is already reading on a 5th grade level, doing end-of-1st grade math, and yet he was starting to hate “school.” I felt like I was failing. I started researching online for other homeschooling ideas, and came across the whole notion of notebooking, and it immediately appealed to me. It seemed so much more flexible than the curriculum we were assigned now, and it seemed like my son would be actually learning more than when he’s just filling in blanks or drawing lines from pictures to words on worksheets.

My first trial was with one of the science notebooking pages. I printed the one with space for 3 pictures and then primary-lined writing area. We did a science experiment, and rather than just DO it, like we normally would have, after the experiment, I had my son draw pictures of the stages of the experiment and asked him to write a sentence about what he learned – and he LOVED doing it!!! It made the whole experience SO MUCH more of a learning experience, and even though it’s been a couple weeks, he’s STILL talking about it! Even though he generally dislikes writing, he truly enjoyed that experience, and I hope to have many more like it!! Thank you for opening a whole new world to us!!

What an amazing resource notebooking pages has been to us! We began with the Bible pages to supplement our FIAR book studies. Now we use them along with Tapestry and our the timeline work.

The History packages exceeded all my expectations! The Explorers pages were such a fun addition to our World History study and now the American Presidents have really brought all our work together in an impressive and fun notebook that we can show to friends and family to highlight what our students are discovering on our learning journey.

My son who I couldn’t get to write three consecutive sentences, suddenly wanted to write everything he’d learned..

Last year I hit the wall in my homeschool journey. My children were frustrated and so was I. We were not having the educational experience any of us wanted. I shelved everything for a month and went back to the drawing board. I am incredibly grateful to have found your site while slogging through the difficult ordeal of revamping our homeschool. I looked through the entire site. I watched the intro video. (I suggest everyone else do the same!) I signed up for the Freebies account, because while it all looked very promising, I didn’t want to spend the money until I’d tried this “notebooking thing.” Boy was I glad I did! I started a study of Chopin and Elephants with my children. They loved it! They loved the “neat pages” to write and draw on. My son who I couldn’t get to write three consecutive sentences, suddenly wanted to write everything he’d learned about elephants. They love using the notebooks I learned to make from the terrific “how to” articles that Debra has written. Suddenly, learning was enjoyable again. I have only one regret when it comes to notebooking, I wish I had known about your site sooner. I didn’t try notebooking earlier because it always sounded confusing and difficult. Debra and her wonderful site eliminated that concern. I’m thrilled to have access to pages on every subject I could possibly imagine. Thank you for this wonderful site. it has been so versatile with whatever we are covering from “required” subjects to ones of personal interest.

I have 4 kids ages 10, 7, 5, and 4. Two years ago we started lapbooking with most of our school subjects except math and phonics. We started lapbooking so that the kids could really make their own books with subjects that interested them. I knew though that as the kids got older that I wanted more than just cutting and pasting so we started adding more copywork to the lapbooks. It was a very natural transition to start notebooking. They now add their own artwork (one of the features I like with the notebooking pages is all the variety for clipart or blank spots for art work with lines for notebooking) Notebooking was a great way for us to journal and work through learning grammar skills in a practical way as well as practicing handwriting. Plus, this way the kids have personalized documentation of their work that we keep in a folder and they love to look over their work from each past year. I honestly wasn’t sure if notebooking would work for our family, but it has been so versatile with whatever we are covering from “required” subjects to ones of personal interest. The great thing is the little boys see the older two notebooking and they want to join in. My youngest just made his own journal book this morning to “write” in. Love it when stuff like that happens.
