The Notebooking Publisher comes pre-loaded with a set of templates in the Publisher Templates Library.

*Members also have access to the licensed templates in the School Templates Library.

Speaker 1 (00:01):
And the spin you, I’m going to show you some of the options you have when working with one of our licensed template collections. So here we are on the homepage of the pro skull publisher, and you see across the middle, our libraries, we have my projects, my templates pro skull publisher. And if you are a pro school member, you will also see school templates. So pro school publisher and school templates are what we call our licensed template collections. So we go ahead and take a look and pro school publisher, you will see this layout a little different than what you would see in my projects or my templates. So these are preloaded templates that come with your subscription. Along the left side, we have filters called category and collections. Uh, when you select a filter or more than one filter within the categories, this is going to show you a union of all the templates and those categories. So it would show you everything that’s in those categories together, where as if you were to select a category and something in the collections filters, you’re going to see an intersection of those two sets. So you’ll only see the templates that would be in both. We also have the search feature where you can type in individual keywords to bring up templates. This is really helpful when you’re in the school template library, where we will have, you know, more subject based type templates where you would want to search for topics.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
So there are basically two ways to work with the license templates. You can start as I’ll show you in this first example, by picking a template right here from the library. So when you first click on the library, you’re going to see everything that we have available. You can use the page nation at the bottom, uh, select how many items you’ll see per page. I’m going to go ahead and select notebooking portrait to view the notebooking pages that are available. And I am also going to select lines standard so that I only see the standard lined portrait notebooking pages. And then I can select 96 to show everything which in his collection, um, there are 21 pages or 21 page options in all. So I’d simply click on one of these templates and that will open the workspace with that template.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
So I went to zoom in here a little bit, all of the elements that you see here on one of these licensed templates are sort of in the background. You’re not going to be able to click on them. You cannot edit them, you cannot move them. So essentially it’s just, it’s in the background layer. And you’re going to add on top of this template, your images and your text, and any other clip art and such things to this particular page. Now you’ll see over in the left side, it says, add to my templates. So right now we’re just looking at the template. We’re viewing it. And if you actually want to use this template, um, you either click add to my templates or just start working with it. And it’ll ask you or tell you that it’s adding it to your templates. So I’m going to go ahead and click add to my templates. And now if we go back to the home page, go to my templates, you’ll see here at the bottom, that that template has been added to my template collection, where I can now edit that template.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
It’s now going back into the workspace. And again, just to show you, I’m trying to click on the page, but there is nothing that you can click on. Again, all of these elements are in the background. Now, everything else on this page works the same. Um, so you can watch our other feature videos to, you know, explore more about the text and image options and the ways you work with the pages within your template, snowing, waiting to go back to the homepage. I said there were two ways to work with the templates. So the second way I’m going to show you is with you. If you’ve started a blank project. So in a previous video, we created this blank project. So I wanted to go and click on that now.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
So if you have a blank project just like this, or just a blank page within any other project or template, the way you can still work with those licensed templates is to choose the pro school publisher from the left sidebar or school templates. If you have a pro school membership, and then this will open the, all of the filters that are available for that library. So I click filter, you’ll see the same category options, the same collections options. So if I click again, as I did on the homepage, notebooking portrait and line standard, I am going to see those same 21 options that I saw on the homepage. And then when I click, when these down drop arrows, it’ll give me all of the options for the pages. And all I have to do is to click and drag that page over to the workspace. And it’ll put that same template again in the background. Again, nothing is clickable. So I’m just going to add images and text on top of this, um, template background. So those are the two ways that you can get started with, uh, licensed templates, uh, other videos. I will show you more details about how to add images and text to these type of templates that already have the lines in the background.
