I knew I wasn’t giving my kids the 'best of the best'.
Mom of 10 ... ages young to adult
After 6 years of homeschooling, I knew I wasn’t giving my kids the 'best of the best'. I didn’t want them to turn out like me, a great student who 20 years later, with high school & college diplomas in hand, doesn’t remember much of anything taught.
When we notebook our studies, quite frankly, the knowledge STICKS. Lightbulbs click and eyes shine! We have a growing treasury of their homeschooling journey.
Discouraged or frustrated with your current homeschooling situation? Please check out the posts below.
These posts give you a glimpse of my path from doom & gloom to victory!
The 50 States Complete Set is the set that launched our first notebooking adventure! We started studying each individual state in the summer of 09' and to date it is my kids favorite subject, hands down! There have been many tweaks and adjustments to our geography studies but this set remains the corner stone!
Basic Notebooking Pages are my standard go to! I have other downloads but these are great for our CM homeschool. After reading a book, doing a science experiment or what ever, the Basic Pages have so many different layouts that suite any sort of review. They are quick to print (usually I decide to use after we finish a book) I am not a planner, and that is what is great about them, different styles to suite any need. And they look great when the children are done. Great for samples for our portfolio, they look like a lot of time was invested in them.
We have 10 dc so for simplicity- go with the Basic Notebooking Pages. LOVE 'em
Thank you so much for the Christmas Freebie! Merry Christmas my sweet internet friend.
We have been using the basic notebooking package to have the kids write recipes that they have enjoyed. These pages will eventually become a cookbook for them when they get married. It is also an adorable way of preserving their writing.
We are loving notebooking! Let me just say it has completely changed our school for the better. Now the girls are really excited to "do school". I was about to give up even though I knew it was what God wanted us to do. School was just drudgery. This has breathed new life into our home and days. How could something so simple provide such relief? If you can't enjoy what you are doing, then, what is the point? We are so happy to be notebooking.
The Mom's Home Journal is a fantastic resource! I just love mine. The cover is personalized or seasonal if I want it to be, and it contains only the pages that are helpful to me. Some content is changeable before printing, and others I just print out. I've sectioned my large 3-ring binder, but it would be very nice to have smaller books as well.
We have many of the notebooking resources and I love having topical pages for the children's writing that they can color if they wish. I love that the older children have tighter spacing, and younger ones have space to draw with only a few lines to fill with words. Pages or segments can easily fit into notebooking or lapbooking with the children.
I also love the freebies from time to time! I have used notebooking pages for stationary, recipe cards for to-do lists or pretty shopping lists for my sweetheart, and have used many of the cards for thank-yous. The first thing I backed up after recovering from a computer crash on the external hard-drive was my extensive collection of NotebookingPages.com!
I'm a busy mom and after 10 years of homeschooling this is my all-time-favorite homeschooling website.
I just purchased the [LIFETIME] Membership for my three children, in 1st, 2nd and 4th grades. My 2nd grader recently asked me what I knew about volcanoes (not as much as I'd like to admit) so we gathered several books and printed off many styles of notebooking pages from the Nature Study section. They had a great time, and already have a list of the next topics of study that they each want to do. Normally we would check out a book about volcanoes at the library and that would be that. This way, they practiced penmanship, learned vocabulary words, and have many illustrated pages that they have continued to add to. We all had fun and learned a lot. Thanks!
The notebooking journey has awakened something fresh and exciting in our school time. I was struggling to "organize" what the kids were learning in history and science and truthfully, just wanted to inject some FUN into those two subjects with minimal prep time.
I have found the templates from the [LIFETIME] Membership collection to be outstanding help for each my 7 students--from my really creative children to my reluctant writers--and well worth the money we invested in it.
My children are pleased to see their history and science notebooks taking shape. With Notebooking Pages by their sides, they have created something to be really proud of!
Thank you for your free spelling sheets. I will be teaching an SWR class this weekend and sharing your spelling sheets with the class and I'll also mention about all your other great products! Thanks again!
We loved using the bird/nature journaling pages this summer when we were studying 24 different birds!
