Mom of 10 ... ages young to adult

After 6 years of homeschooling, I knew I wasn’t giving my kids the 'best of the best'. I didn’t want them to turn out like me, a great student who 20 years later, with high school & college diplomas in hand, doesn’t remember much of anything taught.

When we notebook our studies, quite frankly, the knowledge STICKS. Lightbulbs click and eyes shine! We have a growing treasury of their homeschooling journey.

My mission is to help YOU break free from busywork, burnout, and overwhelm
to find success and freedom for YOUR children.

Discouraged or frustrated with your current homeschooling situation? Please check out the posts below.

These posts give you a glimpse of my path from doom & gloom to victory!

The Doom & Gloom of Homeschooling (part 1)
We all have days (maybe weeks, months, even years), where we are plain worn out, discouraged, or frustrated with homeschooling. Homeschooling just isn’t working out like we thought it would (or should).
3 Homeschooling Myths that Trapped Me (part 2)
I have found that the things I am most passionate about are often the things that bring me the most overwhelm. Why? I tend to do everything I can to make my most passionate dreams a success and end up lost ...
Victory over Busywork, Boredom, & Burnout (part 3)
With these two tools, she said I could completely change the dynamics of how we homeschool. After six years of overwhelm, I was ready to try anything!

I just started homeschooling my 5-year old son for kindergarten this year. I'm new to homeschooling, and we are going through a charter school - so we are given a curriculum and assignments. But I have been frustrated with the curriculum and textbooks, and my son has been less than enthusiastic with the number of worksheets and "busy-work," and I was beginning to feel like I was killing his natural love for learning. Here I had this incredible child who is already reading on a 5th grade level, doing end-of-1st grade math, and yet he was starting to hate "school." I felt like I was failing. I started researching online for other homeschooling ideas, and came across the whole notion of notebooking, and it immediately appealed to me. It seemed so much more flexible than the curriculum we were assigned now, and it seemed like my son would be actually learning more than when he's just filling in blanks or drawing lines from pictures to words on worksheets.

My first trial was with one of the freebie science notebooking pages. I printed the one with space for 3 pictures and then primary-lined writing area. We did a science experiment, and rather than just DO it, like we normally would have, after the experiment, I had my son draw pictures of the stages of the experiment and asked him to write a sentence about what he learned - and he LOVED doing it!!! It made the whole experience SO MUCH more of a learning experience, and even though it's been a couple weeks, he's STILL talking about it! Even though he generally dislikes writing, he truly enjoyed that experience, and I hope to have many more like it!! Thank you for opening a whole new world to us!!

Time is a precious commodity to a homeschool parent. One of the things that made me hesitate going the notebooking route was the time I would need to put into it to create fun and meaningful pages. Debra has saved the day! These pages are simple to use and there are SO many to choose from. I am so thrilled I found Notebooking Pages. What a blessing!

As a homeschooling mom for 8 years now this is the most comprehensive and well done site for notebooking and lapbooking pages I have found anywhere on the web. I was so delighted when I found your site Debra and my children love the lessons we are doing with the pages. I just bought the entire lifetime membership because it is so worth the money!! This saves me so much time and effort, I could just kiss your face. If you are a first year homeschooler or a long time homeschool mom you will appreciate the collection here.

I have loved the pages that we've bought. We have 4 children and they love being able to color the pages along with writing on them. It's added incentive to get the work done. I can't wait to get a ProClick so we can make nice notebooks out of them. I'm looking so forward to joining the Treasury this year, I think these pages are the best!

I recently bought a membership to NotebookingPages.com, and the way I homeschool has changed for the BEST! I am a four year homeschool mom who struggled trying to find a way to make learning come alive for my children (ages 4, 14, 17, 18). They are enjoying putting together notebooks. It allows for their creativity to flow and they can write down what they find interesting about a subject instead of someone forcing an interest on them. They also get to draw if they want or find pictures to place in the notebook. A lot of kids love to doodle! NotebookingPages.com saves me time by providing such nice pages. Notebooking has been such a success for our homeschool!

We loved using the bird/nature journaling pages this summer when we were studying 24 different birds!

I have homeschooled for 19 years. For 18 years I moaned and yes, even grumbled, about the time, effort, and creative brain drain to create my own pages for my students’ various subjects. I would wonder why, after all these years, some savvy person hadn’t come up with pre-made templates for a variety of subjects under one site. And then last year I found Notebooking Pages! Yea! Although I am now down to teaching one child…who is 16, I still use it when we are doing a quick study on various subjects, such as artists or composers. A great way to re-enforce what he is reading. This fall I will be teaching a group of 5th graders state history. And what site did I first turn to when deciding to create notebooks? Yep, Notebooking Pages. I found excellent sheets on our state plus with the handy Notebooking Publisher I will be able to quickly and easily add pages. Thank you, Debra!

I am a lifetime member who is seriously in love with the notebooking pages and the NEW Notebooking Publisher web-app feature. You can create cursive AND/OR print copywork pages – NICE! There is nothing on the market that even compares or gets close to this product. I am still trying to wrap my mind around it all. It has been an absolute lifesaver and has become an invaluable resource to our homeschool. My daughter and I BOTH love the customization features of the web-app. The notebooking pages cover a variety of subjects and age ranges. They can be integrated into your homeschool day with very little if any prep. The pages are done beautifully and are quite impressive. Check out the samples and you’ll see what I mean. I would often check Debra’s website for notebooking pages I needed and ALWAYS found something that fit our needs. I truly appreciate her dedication to making this project number one. If you aren’t a lifetime member and you enjoy notebooking with your children – what are you waiting for? It IS worth the money. You won’t regret it. I know I don’t. The product allows your family (any family) to retain information from their studies in a more engaging, fun, and creative way. I found Notebooking Pages years ago through Currclick. I noticed that every topic I searched for led me to her website – she is very thorough. I wanted everything I saw! My daughter was very young at the time, but I wanted to make sure I had high quality materials to use with her as she progressed through her schooling years. I hope that I can create enough copywork pages this summer for our fall curriculum before my web-app expires. The price to extend the use of the web app is extremely reasonable, but we just finished building our house and the budget is tight right now. I know that if I have the funds, then I will most likely renew the web app. I wish I had purchased it when it was offered as a lifetime product last year. Dummy – I should have known better. Oops – did I say that out loud. I didn’t get to use the web-app as often as I hoped this year because we moved several times and life was just all out of whack. Make sure that you use the web-app free months that are included with the purchase of your lifetime membership especially if you enjoy copywork activities. My daughter is definitely learning better and retaining the concepts now that we use notebooking pages. It works well with any curriculum. We were using an online science curriculum the other day. My daughter asked me if she could create a notebooking page for the life cycle of the jumping spider. Umm . . . YES! She asked me. She also created a copywork page for the term life cycle. She is learning cursive this summer and I look forward to providing her with meaningful copywork pages that complement her studies and the books she reads. Okay, so I just read over my comment. I sound like a gush – oh well, it is what it is. When I love a product, I tend to sound a little giddy or over the top. The new feature amazes me. I am not an affiliate but I may have to consider it in the near future. LOL.

I wish I had found this site earlier! I signed up in the spring of 2012 and have used lots of pages since then! My five boys enjoy having ready made pages that are nice looking for their copy work! Makes copy work more bearable. My 5th grader is working through Intermediate Language Lessons and when he writes a story I type it into the Publisher and create a lovely page for him to add to his notebook. We use My Father’s World curriculum and this year as we studied Creation to the Greeks we found many beautiful and helpful pages to write summaries of Bible characters on in the free Bible pages. The animal copy work pages are just right for writing the morals from Aesop’s Fables. Anytime we need pages to copy memory verses or things from Language Lessons, it’s there. Or we can make it using the Publisher.
