With most of the preset lines that come with a template, the correct line-height will be 23 which will produce “near perfect” results each time.
When you add your own lines from the Extra Elements, this number will change according to how you resize the line area. You will not always produce perfect results working with the line-heights and lines from the Extra Elements.

So cool! This would be such an asset to our homeschool!

Love how you have put the printed notebook together. Also, love how the publisher allows us to do it on the computer though I think our school day just became longer!!!! Thank you so much!
Jo
This looks great. I like that the images are ready to cut & paste – no searching the web for the picture you need.
Hi Sandra,
I just want to clarify that The Notebooking Publisher comes preloaded with an extra elements library, but not any other images. The image library is built with your own images. You may add up to 25 images to your library. However, we are uploading (almost daily) more and more of our notebooking templates with clipart/images. What’s great about The Notebooking Publisher is you can add your own images and simply drag/drop them to our pages. :) Of course, you can also add text and use our pre-loaded extra elements library to add more borders, shapes, embellishments, etc.
Thanks for clarifying that.
Sandra
This is great. What I like best is that my now 15 year old is going to able to do a lot of this on his own. It will give him the independence he is looking for and at the same time give me the comfort that the work is getting done nicely. Thank you.
My daughter, who was never a huge fan of notebooking in the traditional way, absolutely loves the Notebooking Publisher feature! What a fresh and fun way to accomplish notebooking! Wonderful, value-adding addition to our schooling…thank you!
WOW! this is super! I would love to add this to our homeschool’s history studies.
This is wonderful! We are using Sonlight Core 100 with Notebooking this year. Using a Time line is my last thing to put together and you just saved me! =) Thank you
This product is amazing. I love the whole timeline concept. I think it would also be great to use with my daughter who is just entering kindergarten this year. She could give me the text she wants to write and I type it for her. Then she would have complete freedom to decorate it as she wanted which she would absolutely have the capability of doing with this program. The price for this is such a great deal, I really wish we could afford this!!! I can think of so many ways we could use this!!!
I absolutely love your Publisher, it is so easy to use! We are starting a Book of Centuries this year and this is perfect!
Very cool! I was able to use this with my Homeschool in the Woods timeline figures. I had wondered if that would be possible. Now I’m excited!
This is great! I like how you put the pages together to make an accordion. We’ve been just hole punching and putting them in a binder, but this will make more sense to the kids I think.
This is will so helpful! The video explained things so well. I was able to follow all of the steps myself right away! THank you
This is great! I am hoping to begin notebooking this coming year – this will make it so much easier!
Awesome!! Just what I needed. This really helps! Thank you!!
I love how the timeline fits in the notebook when you are done using it- a definite organizational plus. I also like the idea of taping the individual pages, so you can add to it, without creating a whole new timeline.
Super cool! so easy to use. I love the way you do your timeline! Now to save my pennies.
Thank you, so much, for the tutorial. I love the accordian style timeline and the tips on using the page protectors. I have learned much from the tutorial’s and look forward to using the publisher to make notebooks in the fall with my children.
This is great!! I didn’t know this even existed – what a fun way to do timelines :) I played with the guest timeline but I don’t understand how to get the hash marks on the actual line of the timeline. Can you explain that? Thank you!
Oh, this is going to be Fun! I think the worst thing about it is going to be to get my child to stop and get on to the next thing (as if that is a really bad thing!)
Love the timeline tutorial! Had never thought of using the page protectors like that. And using Notebooking Publisher is just a breeze. Love being a member and all the great benefits! Thanks.
WOW! This is a great tool! My mind is already reeling with all of the possibilities!!!! :-)
I appreciate the videos so much! It helps to see the publisher in action. I’m going to show the videos to my kids so they can begin to create their own mini-books.
I love the accordian style timeline. It was fun watching how to use Notebooking Publisher. It looks awesome and will be very handy this year. Where do you find images to import to library? This could be a great independent activity or project for children. I am thinking about having my daughter create a personal timeline importing her photos when she was younger. Are the images in our library in a personal file or are they accessible to all users? Just curious before I attempt this project. The tutorial is wonderful and explains thoroughly how to use publisher. I will admit I have been intimidated. I look forward to using notebooking pages and publisher this year!!! I will have to check out the other tutorials soon. I appreciate the help. Thank you.
God bless,
Tracey M.
A personal timeline is a great idea! My 10yo has been making “scrapbook” pages this summer of her time with friends and church camp/VBS as well as pages for past vacations. Your image library is only accessible to you. You can add up to 25 images. So, for example, say you are working on a particular history or science unit, you could upload all of the photos at one time and then each of your children will have access to these as they work on their pages (or the kids could research the photos too!). There are a variety of free clip art collections you could try or just a plain Google search (although you need to filter this for kids especially). Wikipedia can sometimes be a great source too.
What a creative tool — very cool!
Love the accordian timeline in the notebook. I was going to go to a wall timeline, which takes up an entire wall, because I didn’t like that you couldn’t see the entire timeline at one glance. This accordian style solves the problem! Thank you. I played with the template a little and began to get a bit frustrated. Not as easy to do as shown in the video. I know you have been doing this for some time now, but for us it will take a great deal more time to get as proficient as you are.
I love this! I need to make a timeline for my daughter to fill in as we do lessons this year. We do not have a place where we can hang it on the wall. This idea for the accordion timeline is the perfect solution!
Thank you for the tutorials!
I LOVE THIS!!!
I tried making some timeline pages with the Notebooking Publisher program. It has a lot of potential, but I found it to be a little buggy. When I had multiple text layers on the page, I found that sometimes my text from one or more layers would disappear when I was adding a new text box or if I used the “undo” button. I never could figure out how to get my text back, and the idea of starting over was frustrating. If these issues were worked out, I could see myself using the program quite a bit.
Love the accordion style timeline! Thanks for the instructions on that. Since I am new to notebooking and you already have so many pages available, I will probably not use the publisher just yet, but I think it is really cool and I’m glad to know it’s there to use later. My oldest is only 7 right now, but I can see this being a very valuable tool for him when he is a little older. I think someday he will really enjoy putting together his own notebooking pages using the Publisher. I look forward to seeing how creative he will get with adding his own images. So many options and ways to use this, it is a priceless addition to the Treasury Membership. Thank you so much!
Enjoyed playing with the timeline, but clearly it will take some practice to master the tools, as I had some issues with the text in the text boxes. One day when I have more time to experiment, I’ll try again.
so i just played with the publisher for the 1st time, it was pretty easy although i’m sure i would need a bit more practice to do some of the more detailed things. I just used some pictures i already had uploaded to my computer and it occured to me that this would be a simple tool to make quick and easy scrap book pages too.
I really like the ease of creating what we call “Closer Look” Timeline pages. I think my dear kiddos will like it too.
This has a lot of potential, but I see it more useful for the upper grades. At the elementary level there is just too many things to keep straight. Loved the idea of taping together a timeline though. Would be good if you had way to say: I want to print 10 (or 12, or 25…) timeline pages with this design and this time period (from time A to time B)- and have the times fill in for you- automatically dividing up the time evenly.
I showed my son the video. He is excited to use it as I knew he would be!!
I am new to this program and can’t wait to get started this school year!
Love this!! I had been brainstorming about trying to design my own accordion style timeline – then I watched your tutorial! Great – saves me tons of time. Looking forward to using it this year – and hoping we have time to go back and create one for last year’s studies, too. (A great way to review.)
Thrilled to have this tool! My son has a report due every Mon at our Classical Ed homeschool and he always wants his pages to look nice so he is going to love this. I can’t wait to try the accordion timeline!
I seriously cannot believe how user friendly these new pages are to work with. I especially like that I can add the clip art and not have to worry about my kids having to go to an unprotected web page. It is all right there for them to use on their own.
Great tool! I’m actually in the process of formulating a notebook pages for the boys to do their topical devotional. And I can easily use your basic lined templates and to it the title of the topic and bible verse. This way I can save it and print it. I don’t need to rewrite it by hand anymore. Thanks! Great Work! I look forward to using it for other topics.
I think my kids will really like this- they like lapbooking, but sometimes they get so big that notebooks with 3D would be better.
My boys love the Publisher because they don’t like writing ;-) and my girls love the normal notebookingpages. Both boys and girls make the most lovely and learning pages!!!
