    Not uploading pictures

    Hi,
I am trying the publisher now and what I am trying to do is upload my personal pictures (not copied images). After I click OPEN, I get a message box that says "Images only". What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks

    Hi tlm123,

Most likely your images are too large and need to be resized. Photos taken with a camera can have a very high resolution which is too large to be uploaded via the webpage. I will create a video to show you how to do this. This was on my to-do list (in my brain) and of course I forgot!

Try uploading a smaller file and see if it works for you. ... off to create that video!

I just realized something with my personal photos. They are named with .JPG instead of .jpg. I guess this what the camera software uses when you download it to your computer. Your windows file system doesn't really care if it's capitalized or not, but I bet our website server does! I pretty sure that's why it's not recognizing the file as an image. Let me check with my webhost and see what they have to say.

In the meantime, do your have Microsoft Office Picture Manager? If so, you can change the extension by opening the picture with that program and then doing a "File/Save As/Type=JPG". When I do this it changes the extension from JPG to jpg and it works.

I'll keep working on this. Thanks for the heads-up! I hadn't run into this issue when testing because I didn't use my personal photos!

Thanks, I'll give some things a try. We have been able to do a page so far with copied images from the web and my son is having a lot of fun creating his own pages. Nice job!

I just resized my picture down quite a bit (by 50%, that didn't work; then by 50% more) and it worked! Yeah!!!
    Thank you!

Well I have tried other pictures and unfortunately only one has uploaded even with resizing. But even it had the JPG in all caps so it didn't matter. Still trying other pictures.

I have sent messages to both the webhost and developer, but with it being the weekend I'm not sure when I'll hear back. Thanks for updating!

Hi Everyone! The developers have added the JPG extension (all caps) to the acceptable image format!
